The Royal Yacht Britannia
Aujourd'hui, nous nous sommes rendus à Leith, le port d'Edinburgh, pour visiter le Britannia. (cf. petit commentaire culturel ci-après) :
The Royal Yacht Britannia is one of the world's most famous ships. Launched in 1953, the Royal Yacht proudly served Queen and country for 44 years. During that time Britannia carried The Queen and the Royal Family on 968 official voyages. She travelled a total of 1,087,623 nautical miles, calling at over 600 ports in 135 countries. In January 1997, Britannia set sail from Portsmouth to Hong Kong on her last and longest voyage. She is now permanently moored in Edinburgh's historic port of Leith.
Le temps a été magnifique : une vraie journée de printemps, la plus belle depuis l'été dernier, affirment nos amis écossais. Après la visite du Britannia, nous nous sommes rendus dans un magasin d'articles typiquement écossais, puis avons rejoint les correspondants des enfants aux terrains de sports de l'école.
